Tying

Wearing non-removable waist beads is a journey. Tie them on with purpose and intention. As you are tying them on, recite your intentions, and your wishes. Some wear them for months, some for a year, some wear them until they complete a goal, etc. The string to your beads is made with cotton threads. You can shower and do all your normal activities with the beads on – they are hard to break.

The majority of the beads used are glass beads.  Glass beads are nice because they don't fade and they are pretty sturdy.  We also use accent beads that are electroplated and painted glass beads.  Those beads can fade over time - but even then will still appear beautifully on your body.

How to Tie your Waist Beads

  1. Find the area on your mid-section where you wish to place your beads.  It's totally your choice!  Wrap your full strand of waist beads around your waist along your panty line (or the area of your stomach where you want to place them).
  2. Slide the excess beads down the strand until you find your desired look/hang for your beads.  Pinch both sides together to make sure you like the fit.
  3. Tie 4-6 tight knots where the beads end. Cut close to the knot leaving 1/2cm or more.

Beads that Break

There are some sets of beads that people will wear for a year or more or until they cut them off.  There are some sets of beads that might break after a month or two...or three, etc.  When your beads break, this signifies that they have served their purpose.  Perhaps you have completed something or you have moved to a different phase of some sort of journey and that energy has served its purpose.  When they break, its time to think about a new set.
